Many companies and institutions use oil flow meters, especially those of brands like eletta, which are used very frequently. In such cases, malfunctions are inevitable. Therefore, when purchasing and using such oil flow equipment, one should also understand the possible malfunctions and solutions. Let's discuss this topic.
First, if it is found that the sensor is not transmitting information to the display when using the oil flow meter, check if there is any medium or liquid to be measured in the pipeline. Some metering equipment requires the medium's flow rate to reach a certain level. If the flow rate meets the detection requirements but there is still no detection signal, troubleshooting should start from equipment malfunction to determine the cause of the no-signal issue.
Second, there is another situation where the oil flow meter shows a signal even though there is clearly no medium in the pipeline. In this case, the vibration source should be checked, as in most cases, pipeline vibration causes the sensor to send a false signal. This may be due to poor grounding or other interference signals. If this is not checked and resolved, the results will be inaccurate when the flow meter is used normally.
Third, another situation is that the readings are not standard during daily use of the oil flow meter. Even if the medium and flow rate have not changed significantly, the output information shows large fluctuations. In this case, first check if there is any irregular vibration in the pipeline, and then check if the amplifier gain is incorrect. In many cases, it is due to gain issues. This can be checked using an oscilloscope to see if the output signal waveform is normal and if there is any signal loss. Then, address the problem.
The above are some possible malfunctions and solutions when using oil flow meters. Since many institutions now use this type of equipment to detect flow rate or pipeline conditions, understanding this information is important and practical. Of course, regular maintenance should also be carried out according to the specific flow equipment model.
