When selecting and using electromagnetic flow meters, it's crucial to understand their accuracy. This accuracy can be verified through various methods, one of which is the clear water tank volume method. Below, Ailita Instruments will detail this method for verifying the accuracy of electromagnetic flow meters.
The clear water tank volume method is one of the most commonly used methods for verifying the accuracy of electromagnetic flow meters. It involves highly precise measurement of the clear water tank's geometric dimensions. Without operational errors, a high-value comparative reference can be obtained. The principle of this verification method involves using a high-precision steel ruler to measure the actual spatial planar dimensions of the clear water tank and the sump, then accurately calculating the actual planar area of both.
During operation, first adjust the water level in the clear water tank to a higher level, then close all outlet valves. After the water level stabilizes, use a clear water tank level transmitter and a steel ruler for manual measurement to determine the water levels in the clear water tank and sump. To correct for errors caused by leakage from valves in the clear water tank, etc., measure the water levels in the clear water tank and sump again at intervals, calculating the leakage volume per unit time. This allows for correction of the water discharge measurement, reducing errors.
Next, record the cumulative flow of the electromagnetic flow meter awaiting verification, and calculate the water volume measured by the electromagnetic flow meter. Subtracting the electromagnetic flow meter's cumulative volume from the actual water volume in the clear water tank yields the error, thus verifying its accuracy.
This describes using the clear water tank volume method to verify the accuracy of an electromagnetic flow meter. This method is relatively accurate. Follow these steps for a clear understanding of the electromagnetic flow meter's accuracy.
