Electromagnetic flow meter
When a conductor moves in a magnetic field, cutting the magnetic lines of force, an induced electromotive force is generated, which is perpendicular to both the direction of the magnetic field and the direction of the conductor's motion. The magnitude of this induced electromotive force is proportional to the speed of motion and the magnetic induction intensity. This law was discovered by Faraday in 1831 and is therefore called Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. Electromagnetic flowmeter It is an instrument for measuring the volumetric flow rate of conductive liquids, based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

1. Basic components of an electromagnetic flowmeter
An electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument that uses the principle of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to measure the volumetric flow rate of conductive liquids. It mainly consists of two parts: an electromagnetic flowmeter sensor and an electromagnetic flowmeter converter. It is connected to display, calculation, and adjustment instruments and 485 communication to form a fluid flow measurement system.
2. Electromagnetic flowmeter Working principle
According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor installs a pair of detection electrodes on the pipe wall where the measuring tube axis and the magnetic lines of force are perpendicular to each other. When the conductive liquid moves vertically to the magnetic lines of force in the alternating magnetic field along the measuring tube, the conductive liquid cuts the magnetic lines of force to generate an induced electromotive force. This induced electromotive force is detected by two detection electrodes on the measuring tube. The working principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor is shown in Figure 1.
The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor transmits the induced electromotive force E as a flow signal to the converter, which, after amplification, transformation, filtering, and other signal processing, displays the instantaneous flow rate and cumulative flow rate using a backlit dot matrix LCD.
3. Structural composition of electromagnetic flowmeter
Electromagnetic flowmeter It can be divided into two external structures: split type and integrated type. Due to process requirements, integrated flowmeters are widely used in submerged applications, so this section mainly introduces the internal structure of the integrated flowmeter converter and sensor. The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor mainly consists of flanges, insulating lining, electrodes, measuring tube, excitation coil, and housing. The electromagnetic flowmeter converter mainly consists of terminal blocks, display screen, switching power supply board, and signal conversion board. The electromagnetic flowmeter uses electrodes and fluid to form a circuit to measure the electrical parameters generated in the circuit. As shown in Figure 1, the electromagnetic coil generates a magnetic field with a magnetic field strength of B in a pipe with a diameter of D and a cross-sectional area of A. When fluid passes through, it cuts the magnetic lines of force to generate an induced electromotive force U, which is received by the measuring electrodes.
