A target flow switch is a sensing controller that measures the flow rate of the medium in the pipeline and transmits the on/off signal to the backend device in real time. The flow switch is mainly installed in pipelines carrying water, gas, oil, etc., for online or insertion installation. When the flow rate is higher or lower than a certain value, the switch triggers an alarm signal. After receiving the signal, the system can activate the corresponding actuator.
Working principle of the target flow switch:
The target flow switch is designed based on the principle of temperature change of the probe. A heating sensor and a thermal sensor are built into the probe and are in contact with the medium. During measurement, the heating sensor emits a constant amount of heat. When there is no medium flowing in the pipeline, the heat received by the thermal sensor is a constant value. When there is a medium flowing, the heat received by the thermal sensor will change with the flow rate of the medium. The thermal sensor converts this temperature difference signal into an electrical signal, which is then converted into a corresponding contact signal or analog signal through the circuit.
Internal structure of the target flow switch:
Inside the flow switch housing of the target flow switch, there is a piston with a permanent magnet inside, mounted on the fluid passage. When the piston is pushed by the pressure difference caused by the fluid flow, the magnetic piston will cause the sealed reed switch inside the device to operate. The diameter of the piston determines the starting flow rate. When the fluid flow decreases, the stainless steel spring will push the piston back to its original position. After the reed switch is activated, it can remotely transmit alarms or indications, or it can be integrated into an automatic control system.
Set an upper or lower limit for the target flow switch. When the flow rate reaches this limit, the flow switch sends a signal or alarm, and the system will start or stop. Systems that generally require flow control will use a target flow switch. Depending on the system, the flow switch model, and the place of use, the specific situation should be considered.
The above is a summary of the working principle and internal structure of the target flow switch. We hope it will be helpful to you. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
